Karen S. Brown

Karen initially developed her skills at Deloitte (1980-1996). She has been recruiting since 1996 and currently manages all the candidates and clients for open positions. After 30 years with WM Shirley, Karen and her husband, Layne, purchased the company and began its next chapter as Apidae Group. She looks forward to building on decades of trusted relationships while creating new ones for years to come. She is active in her church, Lamb of God Lutheran, where she has served in a variety of leadership roles. Karen is a native Houstonian and is active in her local community, volunteering for various neighborhood events. Married since 1981, their son and daughter are both married and God has blessed 2Mom and 2Pop (as the grands call them) with four grandchildren – 2 boys and 2 girls. They enjoy spending time with friends and family, playing games, boating, and traveling in their RV. Fun Facts: Karen and Layne are big sports fans – just ask about the Astros, Rockets or Texans!
